Indri Unveils 7-Year Peated Pineau des Charentes Single Cask
Indri Debuts Peated Pineau des Charentes Single Cask
Indri 7 Years Old Single Cask Peated Pineau Des Charentes Prineus introduces a noteworthy addition from the Piccadily Distillery, spotlighting its first 7-year-old expression matured in a peated Pineau des Charentes cask. This release marks a distinctive chapter for Indri, merging fruity aromas with classic peat and smoky spice. The whisky premiered at the "The Village" whisky fair in Nuremberg, where Madhu Kanna and Sharon Grewal from the distillery engaged directly with enthusiasts.
Maturation & Flavor Profile
This single malt was aged for seven years in a single peated Pineau des Charentes cask, a choice that imparts a complex interplay of fruit, peat, and spice. The influence of the pineau cask is evident in the whisky’s mahogany color and its layered aroma profile, adding depth to the traditional smoky character.
Tasting Notes
• Nose: Light smoke and peat merge smoothly into spicy, fruity notes
• Palate: Full-bodied with peat and smoke balanced by yellow fruit and fine spiciness; fruity elements gain prominence as smoke softens
• Finish: Long and balanced, with lingering fruit and gentle smoky accents
