Clydeside Launches First Peated Whisky: 6 Years Old Fortnight

The Clydeside Distillery in Glasgow has launched its first ever peated whisky, Clydeside 6 Years Old Fortnight , adding a smoky new facet to their core range. Crafted exclusively from 100% Scottish barley malted with Highland peat, this whisky is distilled using water from Loch Katrine and matured for over six years in oak casks. Bottled at a robust 46% ABV, it is presented in its natural color and non-chill filtered to maintain its full character.

Clydeside 6 Years Old Fortnight showcases a clean, classic presentation in line with Clydeside’s brand, emphasizing natural whisky tones without artificial coloring. The packaging reflects the distillery’s commitment to quality and authenticity, underscoring the distinctive smoky identity the new release introduces.

Maturation & Flavor Profile

This release matures in oak casks for over six years, allowing depth and complexity to develop alongside the influence of Highland peat. The nose offers gentle smoke interlaced with stone fruit and vanilla notes, while the palate reveals bright citrus combined with heather honey. The finish is rounded off with warm spice and enduring peat smoke.

Distillery Manager Alistair McDonald describes this whisky as “a labour of love” that captures “an exciting moment of contrast” in Clydeside’s annual production calendar, signaling the distillery’s evolving whisky excellence and innovation.

Release & Availability

Clydeside 6 Years Old Fortnight became available to the public on October 14, 2025. Although no price or limited bottle number has been disclosed, it is expected to be offered directly by Spiritory as part of Clydeside’s expanding portfolio.
