Description
The Banff 21 Years Old 1982 Rare Malts Selection is an exceptional and highly collectible single malt from a long-closed Scottish distillery. Distilled in 1982 and bottled in April 2004 at natural cask strength of 57.1% ABV, it remains the only official original bottling ever released by the Banff Distillery. Part of Diageo’s prestigious Rare Malts Selection, this limited edition is non-chill filtered and individually numbered. On the nose, it reveals gentle smoky notes alongside fresh fruits such as apple, pear and pineapple, complemented by floral and grassy nuances. The palate is pleasantly oily and layered, offering dry Oloroso sherry, nutty and fruity elements and touches of toffee. The finish is long and complex, with spicy oak, vanilla, lingering fruit, light smoke and subtly bitter walnuts. A true relic of lost distilling heritage, this Banff 21 Year Old is a prized collector’s whisky and a benchmark for closed-distillery single malts.
