The oldest whisky The Balvenie has ever released, distilled on 5 March 1931 and matured for 88 years in a single refill European oak sherry butt from Jerez before being bottled at 43.2% ABV by malt master Kelsey McKechnie. Only 17 bottles exist, each presented in a hand-blown crystal decanter within a sculpture by artist Daniel Arsham, built from eight layers of hand-patinated bronze and a copper disc taken from a decommissioned distillery still. Honey, buttery fudge and worn leather on the nose give way to creamy toffee, velvety honey and warming spice, closing on a long, drying finish.
