Balvenie 12 Years Old Home Malted Limited Edition pays homage to the distillery's oldest ever released bottling, part of The 1931 Collection created by Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie in collaboration with artist Daniel Arsham. Matured first in American oak and finished in ex sherry European oak casks from Jerez, the same region as the original cask that inspired this release, it uses barley malted entirely on Balvenie's own floor, one of the few distilleries in Scotland still malting its own barley. The result is a harmonious, elegant expression of the classic Balvenie style, with warm biscuit and honeyed toffee on the nose, candied ginger and raisins on the palate, and a full bodied, velvety, soft finish.
