Ardmore 18 Years Old 2008 PeatWave The Caskhound is an 18 Years Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, a 52% ABV independent bottling from The Caskhound, distilled in 2008, matured in ex Bourbon casks and finished for one year in a First Fill Marsala Barrique. The nose leads with dry heather smoke, soot, cold campfire ash and a savory hint of smoked ham, backed by yellow apple, ripe vineyard peach, forest honey and vanilla, then on the palate rich honey, vanilla and dried apricot meet raisins, orange zest, plum, nutty warm caramel, red pepper, ginger and earthy, sooty smoke with charred fireplace wood, finishing long, dry and spicy with bitter orange, walnut, dark fruit, ash, cacao nibs and oak, closing on raisin, honey and cold smoke. Only 241 bottles were produced. A smoky, nutty, fruit driven dram with a warming Marsala twist.
