Types of whisky glass
It has long been known that there are as many opinions as there are people, so we will not focus on choosing the best or worst whisky glass today, but we will indicate the types and advantages of use.
Let's start with the classic, the Tumbler
A timeless glass or rather a glass, thick bottom, wide, not really suitable for drinking alcohol, it mainly serves as a glass for drinks. Classic drinks will go great here, from old fashioned to whisky on the rocks. Its wide and solid base makes it ideal for "crushing" cocktail ingredients, and its simple design lets simple drinks speak for themselves.
NEAT Whisky Glass
Naturally Engineered Aroma Technology squeezes lighter ethanol molecules out of the opening, leaving heavier, more tempting molecules in the whisky. This is a glass that is good for tasting, but also for those new to the spirits category because of its ability to neutralize sharp aromas.
The unusual shape supposedly comes from a manufacturing error, which during further investigation turned out to be a way to direct sharp fumes away from the nose.
Glencairn Whisky Glass
Similar in shape to a tulip-shaped glass, the Glencairn is considered a more solid vessel, although it is equally suitable for tasting. the shape of the bowl directs the aromas towards the narrowed rim. This is a modern, less "spectacular" relative of the tulip-shaped glass and is designed exclusively for whisky. The most popular glass for large events or festivals. Its simplicity and ease of use allows for easier "swirling" of the whisky in the glass, allowing it to open.
Tulip-shaped glass
It originated in Spain and was mainly used for tasting sherry.
It has become the choice of master distillers, blenders and true whisky connoisseurs around the world.resembling a tulip and its bowl-shaped shape concentrates aromas through a slightly narrowed edge, releases a lot of aromas and is great for testing whisky.
Grappa Drinking Glass
Often used for drinking whisky, the shape of the glass has a huge impact on the taste. Only through the bulbous glass, which changes to a cylindrical shape from the halfway point, can you experience the unique taste that is created by the perfect interplay of smell, taste and balance.
Blenders glass
An extraordinary tasting glass in the shape of an alembic. Such a full goblet allows you to distribute a portion of the tasting alcohol over a large surface area of the walls, which ensures a unique concentration of aromas and flavors. The glass exposes flaws and enhances advantages, leading to better sensory experiences. Ideal for a connoisseur of single malt whisky.
Shot glass
Shot glass, which is nothing more than a glass typically used for drinking. There is no point in looking for a "second bottom" here.

Damian Baran
I am in love with the world of whisky since 2021 after the first films about testing and discovering flavors. the story began with a bottle of Talisker 10, earlier of course brands such as glendifich or johnie walker appeared but it was Talisker that opened my eyes to the diversity of flavors and scents. currently with over 800 whiskies tried and head over heels in love with the climates of islay. finds his flavors in bottles such as ardbeg or lagavulin but I also willingly reach for peated whiskies such as glendronach sweet fruity climates of Speyside.
