Description

Bright green in the glass. Wild, herbal, full of character. Joual Vert is distilled in Québec, inspired by a 19th-century French recipe. 68% ABV, and awarded Silver at the World Drinks Awards 2022 and San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2017. The base is Artemisia absinthium – traditional wormwood grown in Québec’s Eastern Townships. Enhanced with twelve additional botanicals, including fennel and green anise, to strike a perfect balance between sweet notes, fresh herbs and bitter depth. On the nose: bold anise, fennel, green pepper, fresh herbs. On the palate: intense, spicy, slightly resinous – with hints of licorice, chamomile, mint and meadow flowers. The finish is long, warm, slightly peppery – with a dry touch and lasting freshness. Joual Vert follows the path of the “Green Fairy” – the legendary absinthe from the Jura mountains, once favored by poets, painters and philosophers. Today, enjoyed with care – but rich in history. Serve the classic way: pour over a sugar spoon with cold water (1:3 to 1:5). The louche unfolds the full aroma. A bold absinthe for connoisseurs – with Canadian roots and European spirit.
