Bruichladdich Debuts Octomore & Port Charlotte 2025
Islay Distillery celebrates Fèis Ìle with its oldest Octomore and first-ever Port Charlotte Single Cask
On May 25, 2025, Bruichladdich Distillery will welcome whisky lovers to its Rock’ndaal Festival during the iconic Fèis Ìle celebrations. Held on the shores of Lochindaal, the event will feature live Scottish music and the debut of two remarkable limited editions: Octomore Polyphonic, the oldest Octomore to date, and Port Charlotte Single Cask Rock’ndaal 2025 Edition, a historic first for the heavily peated range.
Design and Presentation
The packaging of both releases reflects Bruichladdich’s bold aesthetic and commitment to storytelling. Octomore Polyphonic arrives in a strikingly modern design, echoing the progressive nature of the series. Its name and label pay tribute to the layered complexity of the vatting process. The Port Charlotte Rock’ndaal 2025 Edition stands out with its single cask identity and celebration of terroir, referencing its full 19-year maturation on Islay.
Maturation and Flavor Profile
Octomore Polyphonic is a 15-year-old vatting that unites legendary spirits from Bruichladdich’s archives—Octomore 6.3, Masterclass 8.2 and 8.4, and the Event Horizon bottling from Fèis Ìle 2019. It is further enhanced with rare casks: a First-Fill Grenache single cask from 2005 and a Second-Fill Sauternes cask from 2009. Bottled at 54.9% ABV and limited to 2,500 bottles, this whisky exemplifies Octomore’s bold yet refined peat philosophy.
In a milestone for the distillery, the Port Charlotte Single Cask Rock’ndaal 2025 Edition represents the first ever Port Charlotte single cask bottling. Fully matured for 19 years in a Moscatel sherry cask on Islay, this whisky promises depth and elegance shaped by the island’s maritime climate. Only 667 bottles are available, bottled at natural strength and priced at £275.
Conclusion
With the dual release of its oldest Octomore and first Port Charlotte single cask, Bruichladdich marks Fèis Ìle 2025 with exceptional innovation and reverence for its heritage.
Both expressions are available exclusively at the Rock’ndaal Festival and online. These limited edition whiskies not only honor Islay’s rich whisky culture but offer collectors and enthusiasts rare opportunities to experience the full spectrum of Bruichladdich’s maturation artistry.
