Ardbeg Eureka! A Bold 25th Anniversary Whisky Release

Honoring 25 Years of the Ardbeg Committee

A quarter of a century of passion, dedication, and smoky indulgence—Ardbeg marks this milestone with a bold new release: Ardbeg Eureka!. This limited-edition whisky, available exclusively for Ardbeg Committee members, is set to launch on February 27, 2025, in Austria, followed by a March 4, 2025, release in Germany. Crafted with input from Ardbeg’s loyal fanbase, this special bottling encapsulates the committee’s devotion to Islay’s most peaty expressions.

With an ABV of 52.2%, Ardbeg Eureka! is matured in a combination of Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and ex-bourbon barrels, creating an intense and multi-layered profile.

A Design That Embodies Ardbeg’s Legacy

The packaging of Ardbeg Eureka! pays tribute to the committee’s dedication. The label features bold, rugged typography, reminiscent of Islay’s untamed shores, while deep green and smoky black hues highlight the whisky’s signature peated essence. Housed in a robust bottle that exudes tradition and craftsmanship, the presentation perfectly reflects the boldness of the dram within.

Maturation & Complex Flavor Profile

Years of expertise and committee input went into crafting this exceptional release. During Ardbeg Day 2023, over 100 whisky lovers from 15 countries participated in the "Operation Smokescreen" tasting experiment at the distillery. Their feedback inspired Dr. Bill Lumsden and Master Blender Gillian Macdonald to develop a whisky that balances Ardbeg’s smoky intensity with layered sweetness.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: A fusion of smoldering heather embers, sweet hand-rolled tobacco, and hints of cedarwood and fennel.

Palate: Waves of crisp seaweed, sweet cinnamon spice, and dark chocolate raisins, followed by a lingering smoky warmth.

Finish: Long, smoky, and complex, with echoes of spice and charred oak.
