The Macallan A Night on Earth in Jerez: A tribute to Spain's end-of-year traditions
The Macallan concludes its anniversary year with an exceptional bottling: A Night on Earth in Jerez de la Frontera.
Inspired by the festive customs of southern Spain, this single malt matured in European and American sherry oak casks, which were made to The Macallan's precise specifications. The special cask maturation gives the whisky a subtle sweetness and depth that perfectly captures the festive atmosphere of Spain.
With an alcohol content of 43% vol., this single malt offers a multi-layered taste profile.
Notes of pastry, grapes and aniseed are reminiscent of the Spanish New Year's Eve custom of eating twelve grapes at midnight, each symbolizing a wish for the New Year. The scent of pestiños - a sweet, deep-fried pastry with aniseed or honey - rounds off the aroma.
