Bunnahabhain has announced the Bunnahabhain 21 Years Old Cask Strength Edition 2025 , the second edition of their 21-year-old cask strength series. This release continues to highlight the northern Islay distillery’s dedication to producing rich and robust single malts. Aged primarily in Oloroso casks from Jerez and finished in Pedro Ximenez casks, this whisky offers a tightened focus on complex maturation and character development at a potent 53.1% ABV. Its limited availability underlines its appeal to collectors and enthusiasts alike.
Maturation & Flavor Profile
The whisky was matured initially in 21 Oloroso sherry casks before being finished for 21 additional months in Pedro Ximenez casks. This dual maturation process enhances depth and sweetness, typical of sherry cask finishes. Bottled without coloring or chill filtration, it faithfully embodies the distillery’s style of full-flavored Islay malt with a silky and layered palate.
Release & Availability
The Bunnahabhain 21 Years Old Cask Strength Edition 2025 is limited to 2658 bottles worldwide. It carries a price of €322.95 through the distillery’s official webshop. Availability beyond the distillery, including Germany, remains to be confirmed.
