Ardbeg Seann Chreag 21 years: A mysterious drop from Islay
Inspired by the rugged, ancient landscape of Islay, Ardbeg presents its latest rare bottling: The Seann Chreag 21 Years Old
The name, which means “ancient rock” in Gaelic, embodies the deep connection to Islay's untamed nature. This exclusive bottling is only available in duty-free stores worldwide and offers whisky lovers a rare opportunity to experience this exceptional drop.
With an alcohol content of 46.8% by volume and a strong herry influence, Seann Chreag combines sweet and smoky aromas to create an intense taste experience. Malty cookies and hickory smoke rise to the nose, accompanied by fruity notes that turn into tarry peat smoke, demerara sugar and syrupy figs. The finish is long-lasting, salty and characterized by eucalyptus and menthol.
Gillian Macdonald, Ardbeg's Master Blender, describes it as the “sophisticated older brother of the Ardbeg Uigeadail”, taking the intense, smoky and sweet flavors to a new level.
This whisky is a dramatic delight, whether high up on a hill or close to sea level.
